Suppose I've identified a niche product in high demand that I can get from China. If I wanted to order a 40 foot shipping container and have it sent to an Amazon warehouse, what shipping charges are associated with a container that size, how do you handle sale tax/nexus, what would Amazon charge me for storage for the container, what happens to the container once it's empty?

One big area of business is having a new product made in China. They always want you to pay big for them to make a prototype for you. What do you know about this?

All the suppliers I've contacted have asked me to pay for shipping fees that cost a lot and this way I'm not going to be able to try few different suppliers. For example, an item that is $0.35 cost $55.00 to be sent to my house. My question is that is this something I can negotiate with them? Or are there any suppliers that would send their item with no charges? I just wanted to check the quality, and I was trying to minimize the cost for that.

They are very honest, they will tell you don't buy from this shop, delivery time etc. I am doing good with Aliexpress order by selling to friends, family and social media. Thank you very much for this awesome 1-2-3 Guide. My question is the following: I am from Germany and costs for delivery are a fixed 3,5€-4€ per Parcel. Those are the cheapest prices available at all distributors. With the 10% cut, which eBay takes for a successful transaction, this leads to relatively high fixed costs. Would you mind, telling me how the prices in the states are for delivery and if there is a way of cutting down / optimizing fixed costs. I had already done exactly this process using a site called Tradekey about 10 years ago, and made a few hundred dollars before deciding it wasn't really for me (I am gainfully employed and like my job, but I learned so much, and will probably get back into it at some point). I was selling shirts, dog carriers, and bitcoins. (Paypal, though, let people reverse bitcoin charges even after you delivered bitcoins, so, selling those on ebay was not a great idea that cost me a couple hundred bucks). It was really interesting to see this post follow exactly what I had done, from researching a product to haggling with the distributors to posting and shipping. Great article.

From all the research I've done it seems that often they have trouble meeting Amazon package requirements. Any advice? Any names of manufacturers you could recommend that do quality control as well? As for the time it takes to ship from overseas to customers in the united states, how long would it take for a customer to receive an item ordered? I'm selling counterfeit beats by Dre collaborations and making quite a killing on eBay but I'm trying to go legit because I'm constantly having to make new accounts. Having success with my recent account but still I just want to go legit. I got questions on finding a product to sell but for now I'd really like help on how to sell on amazon. It's so damn complicated for me.

Counterfeits are a TERRIBLE idea. I made thousands of dollars but narrowly escaped a VRBO on Ebay. Never again. Now I actually put in the work and also put some effort into dropshipping, which has actually done a lot more for me than my previous imports. Taobao is pretty good if you do go into the dropshipping world, although I know a lot of people say to avoid it. If done correctly, it can bring in a lot of sales. I do want to move into the import and selling model soon though, the margins are a lot higher because the advertising costs are lower.

My trip to China Yiwu helped me to explore new suppliers channel and get to touch base with my agent and face to face meeting. Seeing the real operations and how goods get loaded into container is a real eye opener. I am returning in Jan 2018 with my students and gear with a plan then you could source with a purpose, target profits and be it FBA or drop shipping, you need to be guided.
