Brilliant article mate. It gives a great perspective on life and the time you're living it. Or should I put it in Gandalf's words: "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us"

Live Now..Life is Short. TiMe is LuCk!
Powerful post! Don't take time for granted! When you look back on your life..how do you want it to look. Now is the time to make all of that happen. Thanks for writing!
TIME IS LUCK! Genius, sir! Mind if I used that?
Yes Angie!! Thank YOU for writing!
Good stuff Kyle. Really reminds me of the 3 main things I think about when it comes to death/life. These may not be completely logical, but it's how my brain thinks... 1) If we only exist when we live, then death doesn't exist. 2) The universe/God is infinite, therefore we are infinite. The universe expands and contracts and everything repeats, but in a different way each time. 3) The argument over the existence of God is irrelevant in my opinion. A real God or higher power is beyond our conception; however, there is an undeniable "magic" to life that proves there is more. The emotion and beauty of art, nature, and new born life is way more than nothing, but I can’t fully describe the reason or meaning behind it all. It’s something I feel and know. For example, my God exists in the random, unexplained acts of heroes.
This is a great post! Loved the honesty. "You can always make more money, but never make more time"
Thanks Rob! The undeniable magic of a universe that does it different every time... Awesome, sir :)
THanks a lot Deborah! Just listened to your "Happy" - love your honesty as well :)

Thanks Kyle - that means a lot :)
Haha LEE! That's the spirit of a true entrepreneur right there. I'm sure you'll get out of the grind again soon! Love that closing line by the way :)

Thanks for reading it! I'm glad you found it worthwhile :)
Kyle, today was one of my worst. Almost a year since I quit my job and my new business is on the rise of its lowest point so far in two years. Even though it's on the rise I felt like such a failure. This is what I needed..... This one grabbed my soul and the motivation is back. I truly can't thank you enough for the stuff Will and you put out. Thank you for this one especially. Josh
Awesome Joshua, thanks for commenting - it helps ME stay motivated and reminds me that these posts go out into the world and do some good. Thanks for being honest and thanks for taking the risk to go out and make your own thing. It's important. Godspeed, sir
Death doesn't light a fire under me, it does the direct opposite. In death I cease to exist as does everything I've ever done. Nothing stands the test of time, at least not for a peasant like me. Why bother doing anything at all, it is all for nothing. There is no purpose and in the scheme of things I will not have ever existed anyway. The concept of death doesn't motivate me to do anything other than to just get it over with.
Did you try a couple of the thought experiments above? It may help shift your perspective of it. Of course, there's always the option of not thinking about it. From what you've said, I think you're adopting two ideas that make life worse: 1. It's not worth doing if it doesn't last forever. 2. It's not worth doing unless YOU can appreciate it. Stop making things for yourself and try serving others. Nothing anybody has ever made lasts forever, do you really think that's a reason not to make anything? Your computer is the result of thousands of years of humans building technology on top of other technology. We get to communicate like this because of the "useless" work of others. Try building things for humankind instead of yourself. Add something to the flow of creativity. Your death is only the cessation of your own experience. Everything you make now will echo forever. Maybe not as noticeable as others, but it's there.
Awesome article Kyle, you are a very brilliant young man and, an amazing wise soul, keep on writing and, share your wisdom with the world..i met you once through your father at your uncle's home.
Hi Ali, I remember! Thanks for the kind words. Hope to see you soon :)
I watched the movie, Into the Wild last night, and was stricken by the fact that Christopher McCandless, who had worked so hard to be unattached to human relationships, ended up dying completely alone... and the last words he managed to scrawl out for others to find were, "Happiness only real when shared with others." The movie lit a fire under my ass to make sure that every single day I'm present for the people I love, and that I'm kind to everyone I encounter, and hopefully, share happiness along the way. It doesn't feel like an accident that I would read this post the very next day. I like the one year to live exercise. I'm starting today. I'll report back in a year and let you know how that went. :-) Mani
Hey Mani! I LOVE that movie! So many powerful moments. That one rule could take us a long way. Imagine focusing on being present with everyone we encounter for an entire year... dang!!
Good. Very good. Thx! Death is everywhere, anytime and it gives real power and wisdom to person, who speaks with It and accepts this part of reality.
Thank you Kyle. Today I will do my daughters’ hair, spend time with my favorite cousin I’ve been avoiding and a little rude to. I will also have a delightful meal with a friend... some things I kept putting off. I will also remember my mom and know that in her death, she isn’t contemplating woulda, coulda, shouldas... I will reflect and be inspired by the love she gave in every interaction, as if it was her last.
